Published on 05 May 2023
What has PVC trousers, pyrotechnics and a series of jokes that don’t quite land? That’s right—the Masterclass blog-writing process! Just kidding, it’s Eurovision…
(Honestly, Dave’s lying about that PVC gear in the marketing office. It’s not ours.)
Anyway… Eurovision 2023 is on the horizon, and this year, with Mae Muller as the UK’s entry, you’re going have a lot of fun. Why? Because you’ll finally be prepared as a viewing party host.
Picture the scene: printed Eurovision score cards, a list of Eurovision cocktail ideas and a stylish kitchen dresser to help you shine. Preparing the ultimate viewing party can be a slog. Fortunately for you, today’s article does all the heavy lifting. So, let the Eurovision Song Contest prep begin!
A Home Bar Unit
What’s the first port-of-call for lavish viewing parties? Cocktails. We’ll get onto Eurovision-themed cocktail recipes in a bit. For now, though, it’s worth noting how the right furniture can help you achieve the convenience, style and choice of a commercial bar in your home.
The brand-new Masterclass Bar Dresser, for example, is available in hundreds of colours, styles and water-resistant finishes. You can fit this compact kitchen dresser atop a regular kitchen wall cabinet.
Altogether, it has space-saving bi-fold doors, a wine glass rack and enough bottle space to rival a tall drinks cabinet. More than a convenient place to store drinks, it’s a feature that inspires conversation.
Eurovision-Themed Cocktails
Every Eurovision country has a national cocktail. Nobody, however, has the bandwidth to prepare 20+ gourmet drinks. So, save yourself the stress and cover the five countries with the best odds of winning, plus the host nation. At the time of writing this article, that’s Sweden, Finland, Ukraine, France, Spain and the UK. Easy—and here are the perfect recipes…
Swedish Mule (Sweden)
First in our Eurovision cocktail line-up, the Swedish Mule is a Scandinavian classic, traditionally made from fruit steeped in vodka for 21 days, this adapted recipe is equally delicious but approachable.

- One Shot of Lime Juice
- One Splash of Sugar Syrup
- Four Shots of Ginger Beer
- Crushed Ice
Instructions
Fundamentally simple, just mix the ingredients into crushed ice, stir and serve to your guests.
Finnish Long Drink (Finland)
Loved for its fruity taste, the Finnish Long Drink contains a generous portion of mixer in a highball tumbler. Combining gin and grapefruit soft drink, it was first invented for Finland’s 1952 Olympics.

- One Splash of Lemon Juice
- One Splash of Cranberry Juice
- Four Shots of Grapefruit Soft Drink
- Crushed Ice
